Decades of Collaboration with The Roots

Challenge

Scott Mirkin, an Executive Producer of the City of Philadelphia's Official July 4th Events, needed a Music Director and a band to serve as the central pillar of his vision in 2008 for a national event & Broadcast. So, without hesitation, he tapped his friend Ahmir "Questlove "Thompson Tariq" Black Thought" Trotter and The Roots.

Solution

ESM Productions pulled together an event that was a smashing success with a vast audience and significant network ratings; this was the continuation of many years of collaboration that started in 1995 when Scott served as the DP/shooter for one of The Roots' first-ever videos.

Outcome

The Roots and ESM Productions have frequently collaborated on projects such as Grammy Jams, The Roots Picnic, and a Facebook/Meta VR Concert.
